The Insurance Authorization Specialist (Ophthalmology) is responsible for ensuring accurate insurance verification and prior authorization processing for all in clinic procedures, injectables and medications. The Insurance Authorization Specialist will represent TVC in a positive, courteous, and compassionate manner and aid in the delivery of high-quality health care to all patients. Contributes to the success of the clinic by providing prompt, efficient, and friendly service.
Schedule : 20 hours per week - Tuesday 8am to 5pm, Wednesday 8am to Noon, and Thursday 8am to 5pm.
Hiring Range : $20.09 - $24.08 depending on experience.
Must have reliable and predictable attendance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Responsible for obtaining prior authorization from insurance companies as required.
- Responsible for accurately entering authorization EHR.
- Responsible for timely and accurate insurance verification and prior authorizations.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge and serve as a centralized resource for in clinic procedures, insurance benefits and prior authorization requirements, keeping the clinic informed of changes.
- Responsible for ongoing communication with clinician, patient and insurance companies.
- Responsible for managing the injectable medication inventory.
