Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sommelier / Beverage Director with deep expertise in French wines to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an exceptional knowledge of French wine regions, varietals, and vintages, paired with a talent for creating memorable guest experiences. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate closely with our culinary team to curate wine pairings that enhance our high-end dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
Wine Program Management
Curate and manage an extensive wine list with a strong emphasis on French wines, ensuring a well-rounded selection from regions such as Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, Loire, Rhône and AlsaceConduct regular evaluations of the wine list to reflect seasonal menus, guest preferences and industry trendsMaintain appropriate inventory levels, oversee purchasing and manage wine storage to ensure quality and freshnessGuest Engagement
Provide personalized wine recommendations to guests, tailoring suggestions to their tastes and meal selectionsConduct tableside presentations to enhance the guest experience, including the decanting and proper service of winesHost wine tastings, pairings and special events to educate guests and promote wine salesTeam Collaboration and Training
Work closely with the culinary team to develop and suggest wine pairings that complement the menuTrain front-of-house staff on wine knowledge, service techniques and upselling strategiesFoster a culture of continuous learning about wines, focusing on French wine expertiseOperational Excellence
Monitor wine program profitability by managing costs, ensuring accurate pricing and tracking sales performanceEnsure compliance with all local, state and federal liquor regulationsMaintain the highest standards of cleanliness and organization in wine storage areasQualifications
Certification as a Sommelier from a recognized program (e.g., Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET Level 2 or above) is requiredExtensive knowledge of French wines, regions and vintages; familiarity with other international wines is a plusProven experience as a Sommelier or similar role in a high-end or fine dining environmentStrong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on guest satisfactionAbility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required by the restaurant scheduleDetail-oriented, organized and passionate about wine and hospitalityPerks
