Position Summary:
The Production Manager oversees the daily operations of the plant production. They must understand and follow the Quality Management System and specific processes within the Production and Maintenance Departments, as well as adhere to and behave consistently with VanDeMark’s Responsible Care Policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of the facility.

Plans, organizes & directs D-Area/Phosgene production and utility operations to meet company objectives for safety, productivity, & quality.

Responsible for plant production schedule adherence to meet customer orders.

Works closely with customers and builds positive business relationships.

Schedules and conducts team meetings.

Works closely with the EHSS department to ensure all members of the manufacturing team are aware of and are following policies for a safe workplace environment.

Analyzes workforce requirements. Participates in the hiring and training processes.

Shares a trusting relationship with the work group as well as recruit, manage and develop Operations staff.

Along with Operations Team leader, addresses and resolves employee issues.

Maintains a superior housekeeping program.

Responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping.

Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity, standards, metrics and performance targets.

Prepares monitors, and reports variances relating to production budgets.

Responds to related production and maintenance problems and pursue and implements remedies for such problems.

Involved in new product development to assure new activity fits with current operation.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives in plant operations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering, MBA preferred, with 10 years management & manufacturing experience required.

Work Schedule:
This position is on-site, Monday through Friday, at our Lockport facility.- Majority of time spent in office settings and production areas within the plant.
- Must be comfortable working in a chemical manufacturing environment, adhering to all safety protocols and wearing appropriate PPE when required.

Salary : $135,000 - $160,000
