Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring that all materials and services are sourced efficiently and cost-effectively. This role requires a strong understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations, supplier management, and contract management, as well as proficiency in procurement systems such as SAP. The Procurement Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting production planning and maintaining supplier relationships to ensure seamless operations.
Duties
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Manage the procurement process from requisition through to contract negotiation and award.
- Collaborate with production planning teams to forecast material needs and ensure timely delivery.
- Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and service levels.
- Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations throughout the procurement process.
- Utilize SAP and other systems for tracking orders, managing inventory, and reporting on procurement activities.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
- Prepare reports on procurement activities, savings achieved, and supplier performance metrics.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in procurement or sourcing roles, with a strong understanding of contract management.
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations is highly desirable.
- Experience with production planning processes is a plus.
- Proficiency in SAP or similar procurement systems is essential.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
