Accounts Payable Tax Specialist (HYBRID)
Our client seeks a knowledgeable Accounts Payable Tax Specialist to support their team! This role will be responsible for managing the 1099/1096/1042 process, ensuring accurate tax filings, and maintaining the Vendor Master database while acting as a liaison between Tax and Procurement departments. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days a month onsite in Portland, Oregon. Only Portland Metro residents will be considered for this opportunity.

Accounts Payable Tax Specialist Responsibilities
- Handle 1099/1096/1042 process, including preparation, filing, and reconciliation/corrections of tax forms.
- Ensure timely and accurate Sales and Use Tax filings, including preparation of tax provisions, estimated payments, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Act as liaison between Tax and Procurement Departments, providing support for tax reporting and vendor database management.
- Maintain and validate the Vendor Master database, ensuring accurate vendor setup, compliance, and ongoing data integrity.
- Support cross-functional projects and perform ad-hoc analysis to evaluate department performance and workload.
- Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- 2 years of Accounts Payable experience and/or sales & use tax experience with exposure to 1099/1096/1042 reporting.
- ERP systems experience and intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, Vlookups).
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and manage workload independently.
- Analytical mindset with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
