Footwear Product Engineer - CNC

Our client is seeking a skilled Footwear Product Engineer - CNC to join their team. This role involves working on innovative projects within the footwear manufacturing space, utilizing CNC and manual machining techniques. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with a passion for hands-on problem solving and a commitment to high-quality production standards.

This role is onsite in Beaverton, Oregon.

Footwear Product Engineer - CNC Responsibilities

  • Utilize CNC and manual machines to manufacture molds and parts.
  • Perform secondary operations such as bead blasting, polishing, and washing according to standard procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on innovative projects.
  • Work independently with minimal guidance from supervisors.
  • Develop, program, and simulate as instructed by management or departmental leads.
  • Lead by example and maintain a positive team dynamic.
  • Research and evaluate new manufacturing methods, machinery, and processes.
  • Participate in project kickoff meetings and provide accurate manufacturing timeline estimates.
  • Provide clear written and verbal project updates to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with laboratory and engineering teams to resolve project challenges.
  • Demonstrate coachability and openness to feedback.
  • Independently manage a variety of work processes, utilizing expertise to complete tasks with minimal support.
  • Make informed decisions regarding manufacturing processes, ensuring positive outcomes.
  • Actively contribute to process improvement by working closely with team members and other departments.

Footwear Product Engineer - CNC Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of experience as a CNC machinist or programmer.
  • Proficiency with CNC machines such as Okuma, Makino, and DMG Mori.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to continually develop skills.
  • Creative problem solver with a hands-on approach and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of mold making processes is a plus.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Passion for hands-on manufacturing and technical problem-solving.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and work independently.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a focus on cross-functional teamwork.
  • Demonstrated ability to make data-driven decisions in a manufacturing context.
