Risk Adjustment Coder (QHP)
Our national non-profit healthcare client seeks an experienced Risk Adjustment Coder to support to their team. The ideal candidate is trainable, self-motivated, and has impeccable attention to detail and accuracy.
This is a fully remote role requiring Eastern Time Zone hours.
Risk Adjustment Coder Responsibilities
- Perform initial reviews of charts.
- Perform code abstraction and quality audits to ensure accurate ICD-10-CM coding in medical records, primarily for QHP.
- Code for government and state models ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Stay updated on ICD-10-CM codes, CMS documentation standards, and relevant state and federal regulations.
- At least 5 years in risk adjustment coding including RADV experience required.
- Current core coding credentials through AHIMA or AAPC (e.g., RHIT, CCS, CPC); AAPC CRC certification preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and able to learn new systems quickly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized and efficient multi-tasker with the ability to effectively prioritize competing tasks.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information.
