Senior Project Manager:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee and drive complex gas infrastructure projects from initiation to completion. This role requires expertise in project management within the energy or utility sector, with a focus on gas pipeline systems, compressor stations, and storage facilities. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with industry regulations.
This role is open to candidates who reside in Oregon or Washington and must travel to project sites as required.
Senior Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate project activities across engineering, operations, and external consultants to maintain project timelines and deliverables.
- Manage project documentation, including PMO reports, change requests, RFIs, and compliance records.
- Oversee the permitting process and ensure adherence to environmental, safety, and industry standards.
- Develop and monitor project schedules, forecasting material needs and personnel resources.
- Track project costs, analyze financial variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Identify potential project risks, create mitigation plans, and ensure resolution of issues.
- Direct vendor and contractor activities, ensuring compliance with contract terms and project requirements.
- Facilitate stakeholder communication, providing project updates through meetings, reports, and portfolio reviews.
- Implement project management best practices and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Conduct site visits as needed to assess project progress and coordinate field operations.
Senior Project Manager Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of project management experience, preferably in the gas, energy, or utility sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related field.
- PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
- Strong background in infrastructure projects, including pipelines, storage facilities, and compressor stations.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, RFPs, and alternative contracting methods such as EPC.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and project risks effectively.
- Exceptional leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
- Experience with project management tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with permitting processes, environmental regulations, and safety compliance specific to gas infrastructure.
- Must be local to Oregon or Washington and able to travel to project sites as required.
