Overview
- The focus of this internship will be to assist the R&D team to
- Check prototypes for proper DFM, DFA, etc.
- Create prototypes and have them manufactured using both traditional manufacturing methods and rapid prototyping methods
- Use AI to accelerate analysis and problem solving
- Perform design work using both 3D and 2D methods
- Identify opportunities for improvement and brainstorm solutions
- Establish processes to complete tasks more efficiently
- Solve problems for internal & external customers
- Hands-on work prototype assembly and testing
- Create test plans and test reports
- Present findings, proposals, etc. to R&D leadership
- This position is on-site
- Currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing BS ME, BS EE, BS MET or equivalent
- Grade level 2nd, 3rd or 4th year preferred
- GPA of 3.0 or better preferred
- Any experience, software/programs, etc.
- MS Office
- SolidWorks
- AutoCAD
- Excel macro programming
- AI tools
- Specify number hours to be available to work per week 40 (ideal but flexible)
- Mechanical and/or electrical design/drafting experience
- Material handling system design/operation experience/familiarity
- Good attitude & positive personality
- Self-motivated & good work ethic
- Creativity big picture thinking and ability to see component interaction at a system level
- Above average communication skills (both technical & personal, oral & written)
- Critical thinking ability & ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations
