The salary range for this position is commensurate with several factors including years of experience, type of experience, education, and professional registration, therefore total compensation is expected to range from $140,000 to $170,000.00.

We are looking for a Senior HVAC Design Engineer with a science & technology or healthcare focus in our dynamic New York City office.
As a Senior HVAC Design Engineer, you will be working on cutting edge projects in the Science and Technology as well as healthcare and Commercial space.
Some of your responsibilities as a Senior HVAC Design Engineer include the following:
- Lead the technical development of HVAC systems for large and complex projects including Science & Technology, Academic, and Commercial sector.
- Formulate design criteria, perform calculations, develop concep t designs, specifications, and construction documents for high performance building systems
- Supervise and effectively manage technical development throughout all phases of design assuring tasks are completed in accordance with company standards and good engineering practice.
- Develops mechanical plans, specifications, and inspection reports as needed on assigned tasks
- Technically involved in the resolution of design problems that may include performing filed investigation or inspections
- Knowledge and experience with mechanical calculations, equipment selection, ductwork layout, hydronic systems, and construction documents.
- Understand Revit to allow leadership and direction for the design teams.
- Attend field visits, develop visit reports, meet with contractors, as necessary.
- Mentorship of Junior Engineers.

- 10 years of experience designing HVAC systems in high performance facilities.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience leading HVAC teams on technically challenging projects
- Communication, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills
- Background in either commercial, mission critical data centers, or hospitality is a plus.
- Professional commitment to sustainability, LEED accreditation is a plus.
- Professional Engineering license is a preferred.
