Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager will oversee accounts receivable (AR), cash reporting, and the month-end financial close process. Additionally, this role involves preparing financial reports and assisting with various accounting and reporting tasks. The Accounting Manager will also supervise accounts payable (AP), purchasing, and payroll staff. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and values accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the general accounting department, including AP, payroll, and purchasing teams.
- Handle AR functions, such as preparing and sending invoices, applying payments, and addressing outstanding balances.
- Implement and ensure compliance with store-level cash controls, conducting periodic audits, and training store personnel as needed.
- Support inventory accounting to ensure accurate valuation of month-end inventory, cost of goods sold (COGS), and gross margins.
- Assist with sales tax filings.
- Prepare and report monthly financial information, including completing all balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Prepare financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Provide documentation and support for audits as required.
- Contribute to month-end and year-end close processes and other accounting tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks Online.
- Familiarity with Leaflink and Dutchie is a plus.
- Knowledge of Missouri’s cannabis industry is preferred.
- 5-7 years of accounting experience, with CPA certification preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Comfortable working in a rapidly changing industry with evolving regulations.
- Must be at least 21 years old and able to pass background checks necessary for obtaining a Missouri Medical Marijuana Agent Card.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.

Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime or weekend work during peak periods. Flexibility may be provided.
Location:
Remote role based in Missouri, with occasional in-state travel for store visits (1-2 times monthly).
