Position: Assistant Project Manager
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Construction Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join our team. This role supports the Project Manager in delivering construction projects efficiently, ensuring smooth information flow, and maintaining active communication with subcontractors, superintendents, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Project Start-Up:
- Review project scope with the Project Manager and create a Submittal Log.
- Develop a subcontractor directory with relevant contact details.
Submissions & Document Control:
- Request, track, and distribute required submissions (shop drawings, samples, etc.) for approval.
- Maintain a Submittal Log and follow up with subcontractors and architects/engineers (A&E) to ensure timely review and approvals.
- Distribute approved submissions to the field team and maintain up-to-date records.
Project Execution:
- Attend and document weekly construction and subcontractor meetings.
- Maintain Request for Information (RFI) and Change Order logs.
- Ensure job sites have updated drawings, permits, and approved submissions.
- Assist with subcontractor pricing and change order preparation.
- Support project scheduling and distribution of updates.
Project Close-Out:
- Coordinate with subcontractors to collect close-out documents (As-Built Drawings, Warranties, O&M manuals).
- Assist in scheduling inspections and securing necessary sign-offs.
- Prepare final close-out packages for clients and third-party inspectors.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Construction, Architecture, Engineering, Marketing, or Finance.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software is a plus.
