Job Description
The Project Superintendent oversees day-to-day operations at the construction site of Solar, BESS and Microgrid Projects.
This includes ensuring all projects are built to Vanguard Energy Partners' specifications.
The Project Superintendent will coordinate with subcontractors, labor, and site logistics to ensure timely completion.
They must communicate effectively with Project Managers and Engineers regarding project status.
Additionally, they are responsible for monitoring the site daily to uphold VEP's safety standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage construction projects for Photo Voltaic, Battery Energy Storage Systems, Microgrid, and other Distributed/Onsite Energy Systems.
- Supervise subcontractors and labor crews to ensure project adherence to plans, specifications, schedules, and quality control.
- Coordinate material and equipment logistics with the Project Engineer.
- Maintain and exceed labor production goals.
- Communicate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure work is done according to contract requirements.
- Collaborate with the construction team to maintain schedule and budget.
- Generate 3-week project forecasts for Project Managers.
- Interact with Engineering and Estimating teams to provide feedback on estimates, costs, best practices, etc.
- Focus on safety, quality, production, and client satisfaction.
- Conduct daily safety talks and job hazard analysis.
- Participate in VEP's safety program as an active member.
- Work with Project Managers to obtain inspections and document quality aspects of physical work.
- Manage project scope changes, notify subcontractors, and report changes to Project Managers.
- Maintain daily paperwork, including field reports, schedule updates, and email correspondence.
- Store project documents in shared drives.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in general construction, 1 year of solar photovoltaic experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction management, or a combination of education and experience preferred.
- Prefer an Electrical Background.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and a large-scale workforce.
- Travel to jobsites within the tri-state area required.
- Able to effectively manage essential job duties and meet deadlines.
- Able to maintain onsite project documentation.
- Able to schedule and coordinate site work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated, driven, and results-oriented, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Able to interact with people at all levels, ensuring high-quality external and internal communication.
- Excellent critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
- Familiarity with Racking systems, Panels, Inverters, DC wiring, AC wiring, Interconnection, DAS, Batteries, Gensets, Turbines, ATS, Switchgear, NEC, Rapid Shutdown beneficial.
- Willingness to travel to remote sites and stay on location for extended periods when needed.
