IT Assistant

Vanguard Utility Service, Inc. is a leader in AMR/AMI installations; water, gas and electric meter change outs, testing and repair. We are looking to expand our workforce for the growing demands with career seeking individuals. Vanguard is currently seeking an experienced IT Assistant who will support the IT Manager with daily operations.

Some Responsibilities of the IT Assistant include, but are not limited to:

• Provides assistance in the use of personal computer hardware, software, and specialized mainframe technology;

• Monitors the production scheduling, execution, and successful completion of production jobs;

• Sets up and configures desktop computers, peripherals and accounts assigning security level;
• Troubleshoots, diagnoses problems, implements corrective action procedures within prescribed guidelines and/or escalates to other technical resources as appropriate;

• Maintains systems, databases and web pages;

• Administers user accounts;

• Designs and produces reports;

• Sets up and submits production jobs and edits and debugs computer output;
• Maintains records;

• Contributes to unit goals by accomplishing related duties as required

Educational Requirements:

• High School Graduate or equivalent with data processing training, computer operations training, or experience in a multi-operation system preferred.

Skills and Experience Requirements:

• Two or more years of related experience with computers and databases;
• SQL & VBA Experience;
• Proficient in the use of Excel;
• Ability to work efficiently with minimum supervision and able to act as a lead when the need arises.
• Exercises judgement and creativity in selecting and applying procedures correctly, and determines when to refer problems to the Manager or next level of support.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
