Kennel Technician

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing a safe and nurturing environment for pets in our facility. This role involves hands-on interaction with animals, ensuring their well-being, cleanliness, and comfort while also assisting with various kennel operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercising pets according to their individual needs.
• Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
• Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to management.
• Assist with bathing, brushing and nail trimming.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by pet parent.
• Handle animals safely and effectively, using proper techniques for restraint and care.
• Maintain accurate records of animal care including feeding schedules, medications and behavior observations.
• Engage in playtime activities with dogs to promote good behavior and socialization skills.

Requirements

• Ability to handle animals with patience, compassion and confidence.
• Knowledge of basic animal care practices, including feeding, grooming, and health monitoring.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for the position (up to 50 pounds).
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and pet owners.
• A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their welfare.
• Must be willing to work with animals of all breeds and temperaments.
• Must have excellent cleaning skills and a high ability of paying attention to details.

**Please note** This position requires rotating weekend and some holiday availability. We offer a pay increase after a 90-day probationary/training period. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
