Dietary Director- Assisted Living
Vannoni Assisted Living Center, a part of the Community Development Corporation and Mishawaka Housing Authority, is seeking a Full Time Dietary Director. Our facility is located within the Riverview 500 building on the river in downtown Mishawaka, Indiana. We are a small facility with up to forty-nine (49) low acuity Medicaid Waiver Assisted Living apartments.
You will report directly to our Administrator who will jump right in to assist when help is needed. The entire team from Nursing to Housekeeping work for the residents to proved excellent patient care and customer service.
PLUS there is a monthly retention bonus AND a quarterly bonus available.
The Dietary Director is responsible for:
- Leading the day to day operations of the Dietary Department of Vannoni Living Center, including profit and loss and maintaining budget in collaboration with the Assisted Living Administrator
- Plan, implement, and evaluate all aspects of dietary program which adhere to state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines
- Recruit, train, and supervise and evaluate Dietary staff
- Perform assessments to determine resident needs and establish appropriate meal plans
- Supervise, develop and schedule dietary department staff, available to cover staff when needed
- Work in conjunction with VLC staff on the dietary portion of the move-in processes
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Culinary Degree Preferred
- Safe Service Certified or Certified Dietary Manager
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all assignments as mandated
- Working knowledge of all kitchen operations and food safety standards
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Able to manage budgets including: food, supplies and labor
- Experience in recruiting and managing staff in the food service field
- Outstanding interpersonal skills required to deal effectively manage a variety of people and issues
- Computer skills including but not limited to payroll software, food order, and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Able to work flexible work hours related to the demands of the position
