What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Engineer position at Vantage Consulting?
Experience should include design engineering, regulatory compliance, electrical power control, troubleshooting, construction inspection, commissioning support, and business development. Knowledge of drives, MV motors, transformer & switchgear design, soft starters, US and international codes (ATEX, NEC, UL), programming, low voltage MCC, and industrial heaters is required.
Responsibilities:
- Develop single-line diagrams, schematic drawings, purchase specifications, and electrical construction specifications.
- Supervise start-up testing and commissioning of electrical equipment in new process plants.
- Collaborate with other disciplines and construction management during plant design and construction.
- Lead designers and assist in plant proposals for business development.
Projects may include:
- Coordinating with utilities for new plants and substations.
- Power system studies and substation package development.
- Installation and commissioning of high voltage substations, motors, switchgear, transformers, VFDs, and more.
Troubleshooting includes:
- Evaluating equipment breakdowns, analyzing plant trips, and performing root cause analysis.
Other activities:
- Conducting plant reliability audits, evaluating existing electrical equipment, and preparing cost estimations for upgrades.
Must be able to read Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams and view 3D models. Excellent communication skills are required.
Professional engineering licenses are a plus.
Job Type: 6-month contract
Pay: $60 - $75 per hour
