About this Opportunity:
The Inspector I is responsible for in-process inspection, lot inspection, and creating and compiling quality reports for the Machining, Welding, Deburring, Painting, and Assembly departments. This role ensures compliance with customer specifications, internal quality standards, and ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prioritizes inspections based on workload and job priorities.
- Performs receiving and incoming inspections for raw materials and outsourced components using calibrated measuring tools, mainly welded, machined, plated, and painted parts.
- Conducts in-process inspections (First Article & In-Process Checks) by verifying products against engineering prints, work orders, and other documentation.
- Advises operators on deviations found during inspection.
- Performs lot inspections on products ready for the next operation, ensuring conformance to prints, work orders, and specifications.
- Creates and compiles quality records per the Quality Management System (QMS) and customer-specific requirements.
- Performs ERP transactions to track non-conformances and inspection records.
- Supports ISO 9001:2015 audits and compliance initiatives.
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis, process enhancements, and efficiency improvements.
- Operates and maintains Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other advanced inspection equipment, if applicable.
- Works overtime as needed to support production and quality requirements.

Job Requirements
Education and Experience
- Minimum 2 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in machining, welding, and fabrication.
- Experience in aerospace, medical, or precision machining industries is preferred.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Hands-on experience using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, test indicators, and other precision measurement tools.
- Familiarity with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operation is a plus.
- Experience in continuous improvement activities to enhance inspection accuracy and efficiency.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and ERP systems for documentation and reporting.
- Understanding of welding inspection, plating, painting, and surface treatment quality standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 requirements and quality control methodologies.
Certificates and Licenses
- CMM training or certification is a plus.
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or equivalent certification is preferred but not required.
Physical Demands
Some assigned tasks for this position may involve “Medium work” and some may involve “Heavy Work” as defined below. The hiring authority may review the applicant’s physical ability based on the specific tasks to be assigned.
- Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
