What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Service Foreman position at Vara Chevrolet?
The Production Manager is responsible for leading the maintenance service team for all revenue producing and service vehicles, as well as shop equipment.
The role supervises, directs, and assigns work to service technicians to attain high levels of quality, morale, safety, and efficiency within the company's maintenance / service team.
Responsibilities
Ensure that all work is completed and meets General Motors standards
Communicate effectively with other shifts to run workflow efficiently
Keep up-to-date on the latest workplace safety and environmental requirements and implement all health and safety policies on the shop floor
Maintain and service equipment as needed or according to dealership and manufacturer standards
Interview drop-off drivers and document vehicle complaints
Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment
Craft job orders, observe and listen to vehicle in operation to resolve malfunction and plan work procedures
Test-drive vehicle once service is complete to ensure that they run smoothly
Tag all warranty parts and returns to Warranty Clerk
Look out for training and factory technical bulletins as they become available
Oversee technician training and schooling
Qualifications
- Extensive GM automotive mechanical experience preferred
Strong leadership, interpersonal, math, and writing skills
Ability to prioritize work in a dynamic environment
Management or customer service experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
ASE certification required
