VAREX Imaging serves the industrial inspection market also known as the nondestructive testing field. VAREX NDT SYSTEMS’s regional and energy business headquartered in Houston, is currently looking for the position of Radiographic Applications Manager.
This position provides leadership, management, and superior assistance to our clients on VAREX NDT SYSTEMS industrial digital imaging systems/solutions. This leader will assist in building as well as supporting our solutions centers and channel partners globally. He/she will be responsible for the technical performance of the business unit, major inputs within the future NPI roadmap, and design, development, commercialization, production, & aftermarket support of all products and digital radiography systems.
Knowledge of industrial radiography, product management, applications’ development, documentation, process improvement, and a relentless drive to solve challenges are key focus areas for success.

Varex flat panel detectors are also designed to meet a broad spectrum of non-destructive testing applications. Our radiography technology allows our customers to take advantage of superior digital image quality, high throughput, and capabilities. Because our flat panel detectors capture digital images and eliminate the need for film, more images can be captured in a faster period.
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
- Actively lead NDT solutions, system integration, applications development, product management support and new business development activities.
- Display a deep aptitude for systems integration coupled with technical competencies with an emphasis on solving problems and identifying opportunities for the business.
- Execute and perform technical expertise and support including systems demonstrations both field and line systems.
- Competency, practical aptitude, and expertise in the technical functions of digital radiography (software, hardware) and mechanical or robotic/in line systems.
- Support equipment installation, acceptance testing, and equipment and method training at client sites or VAREX NDT SYSTEMS/Varex locations.
- Build customer relationships & provide training on functions and features
- Seek continuous VAREX NDT SYSTEMS/Varex Industrial solution knowledge and industry knowledge.
- Proactively share feedback and ideas to better the products and solutions platform.
- Work to meet individual, business unit and corporate goals and imperatives
- Understand and support quality functions in VAREX NDT SYSTEMS/Varex technology and solutions.
- Support customer base and prospective clients with technical expertise both software, hardware, and overall support either on site or remote
- Maintain accurate and up to date records of all opportunities and disposition opportunities as they evolve by utilizing the company CRM tool.
- Make recommendations for features, products, and new product solutions.
- Travel as required (high degree).
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
- 8 years of experience.
- Marketing, Engineering or related discipline, or 10 years of progressive engineering, technical business, operations, or commercial experience.
- NDT Level II or Level III in Radiographic Testing Method
- 8 years of knowledge and experience in digital and/or conventional radiography products and/or services
- 8 years general knowledge of nondestructive testing
- Technical experience in NDT methods and procedures
- Deep experience with CR/DR & Isotope Radiography in the Energy Sector
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT
- Ability and willingness to travel within the region
- TWIC card or ability to achieve TWIC access.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing and dependable transportation
- Physical demands and conditions of work: standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing pulling reaching handlings. Moving, carrying, & lifting objects exceeding 50 pounds
- Working extending hours including remote sites for long periods of time.
