Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate General Counsel to join our team at Variant Partners.
This role will involve responsibility for the preparation and prosecution of the Company's rate and other regulatory matters in three states, including Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The successful candidate will also support the Company's federal electric rate proceedings and participate in resource planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare company filings, proceedings, and related activity across three states.
- Support Company's federal electric rate proceedings.
- Participate in and support Company's resource planning.
- Provide legal advice and direction to the Company to support regulatory strategy.
- Maintain company relationships with regulatory authorities and key stakeholders.
- Support interaction and communication with company executive management and internal functions which impact regulatory processes.
Requirements
- JD from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law or eligible to become licensed in Minnesota, North Dakota, or South Dakota.
- At least 5 years' experience in utility or state regulatory and administrative law.
- Experience with investor-owned utilities is a plus.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
