Dental Treatment Coordinator/Front Desk Receptionist
We are looking to add an additional Receptionist to help manage our front desk on a daily basis and to perform a variety of clerical tasks. As a receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our dental office. You will welcome our patients and help them during the check in process for their appointment. You will coordinate front-desk activities, including distributing correspondence and redirecting phone calls. To be successful as a Receptionist, you should have a pleasant and friendly personality, as this is also a customer service role. Multitasking and stress management skills are essential for this position. As a dental treatment coordinator, you will help the doctor in scheduling patients for their next treatment appointments as well as call patients to fill the schedule when cancellations occur. You will also coordinate treatment plans to present estimates to patients. You will also send and process pre-determination claims for treatment plan estimates. Ultimately, a Receptionist’s duties and responsibilities are to ensure the front desk welcomes patients positively, and executes all administrative tasks to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients as soon as they arrive at the office
- Schedule appointments for the doctor's patients
- Coordinate treatment plans and estimates
- Send and process pre-determination claims
- Verify dental insurance
- Send referrals to other doctor's offices
- Scan in documents including insurance cards, insurance info and provider reports from referring doctors
- Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls
- Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable
- Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
- Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries
- Order front office supplies and keep inventory of stock
- Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, scanning, emailing and faxing
Skills
- Proven 1 year minimum work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative in the dental field
- Proficiency in Dentrix preferred
- Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
- Excellent organizational skills
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Customer service positive attitude
- High school degree; additional certification in the dental field a plus
- Ensuring HIPAA compliance and all applicable laws
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
