Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare and review general ledger transactions, month-end close activities, and initial financial statements.
Process payroll, including entering payroll data, reviewing timesheets, ensuring timely payments and quarterly and annual payroll tax returns and forms
Complete routine, recurring, repetitive accounting tasks using standardized procedures and checklists, ensuring consistency, quality, and timely completion.
Complete reconciliations for bank, credit card, and loan accounts, and maintain fixed asset schedules.
Document client procedures.
Utilize accounting software and assist with anomaly detection and workflow management.
Suggest process improvements and stay updated on best practices and fraud prevention.
Manage tasks with accuracy and timeliness, seek growth opportunities, and proactively learn new skills.
Work independently and collaboratively, participate in reviews, and foster strong team relationships.
Give and receive feedback to enhance both individual and team performance
Proactively manage schedule to align with client tasks / frequency.
Participate in networking and team-building events.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelors degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience
Familiarity with basic accounting principles and technology
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nonprofit accounting or related experience a plus
Experience working with payroll systems, general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Exposure to financial reporting standards.
Basic proficiency in sales & use tax, and payroll compliance.
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in accounting technology systems and tools.
Team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work independently.
Curiosity and tenacity in improving processes and developing new skills.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
