Varnum LLP, a Michigan-based, full-service law firm with over 180 attorneys and six offices, has a full-time Legal Billing Coordinator opening our accounting and finance department located in our Grand Rapids office. We are seeking a candidate who is organized and displays a keen attention to detail, with a superb commitment to client service. This individual should be comfortable working independently, as well as part of a team. In this key role, you'll help ensure our billing processes run smoothly and efficiently—making a real impact on client service and the financial health of the firm.
What You’ll Do:

What You’ll Do:
- Prepare, edit, and finalize client invoices in collaboration with attorneys and legal assistants.
- Review and revise prebills, including editing time entries for accuracy.
- Respond to billing-related inquiries in a timely, professional manner.
- Coordinate eBilling submissions and troubleshoot submission issues.
- Maintain accurate billing records and ensure adherence to client billing guidelines.
What We’re Looking For:
- Associate’s degree in business or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in a professional services or law firm setting preferred.
- Prior billing experience required (legal billing a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Exceptional customer service and communication abilities.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with legal billing software and eBilling platforms strongly preferred.
- A self-starter who thrives both independently and as part of a team.
Hours:
- 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.
- 100% in-person.
