Job Overview
The auditor will conduct comprehensive reviews and audits of services and billing across various regions. They will evaluate provider practices, ensure billing accuracy, and formulate corrective action plans when necessary. The role involves frequent travel to contracted provider locations, team collaboration, and participation in training to maintain expertise. The auditor will also engage in recommending process improvements and adhering to applicable state laws and policies. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and prior audit experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Conduct audits and reviews of services and billing across multiple regions.
- Identify errors or discrepancies in billing and service delivery and create corrective action plans.
- Educate providers on audit findings and best practices.
- Participate in weekly and monthly team meetings and quarterly face-to-face meetings.
- Suggest and implement process improvements within the team and division.
- Stay up-to-date with state laws, policies, service standards, and procedures.
- Travel to provider locations (up to twice a week) and quarterly meetings at the central office.
- Maintain accurate records of audits, reviews, corrective actions, and prepare necessary reports.
Main Skills:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Finance or 4 years' experience in audit/investigations.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication, able to communicate effectively with state agencies, community programs, and colleagues.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).
- Attention to Detail:
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet assigned deadlines.
- Audit Experience:
- Experience formulating and implementing audit corrective action plans.
- Prior experience as a billing auditor in state or federal agencies (highly desired).
- Knowledge of Laws and Policies:
- Strong knowledge of applicable state laws, policies, service standards, and procedures.
- Travel Requirements:
- Willingness and ability to travel within designated regions (twice a week, occasional quarterly travel to Central Office).
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
