Job Description: Housing Specialist II (HCV)
SCOPE:
This position is responsible for processing certifications for families in the Housing Choice Voucher/Section 8 Program, verifying eligibility, and ensuring compliance with program rules and federal regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Interview applicants and verify income/family composition for eligibility.
- Process certifications and reported changes using agency software.
- Calculate housing assistance payments, tenant rent, and utilities.
- Provide walk-in assistance and generate required correspondence.
- Follow up with clients and landlords for necessary forms/status updates.
- Assist with briefing sessions and provide customer service.
- Update client records and respond to inquiries.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Two years of relevant college courses or equivalent experience.
- Two years of experience in social work or related field.
- Proficient in basic business math and HUD regulations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $22.00 per hour
