Position Overview
Our Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations of a warehouse, ensuring efficient and safe handling of goods, from receiving and storing to shipping and distribution. This includes managing staff, budgets, and inventory while adhering to safety and compliance regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing programs.
- Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation.
- Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
- Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciles with data storage systems.
- Maintains the physical condition of the warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts.
- Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, and analyzing variances.
- Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees.
- Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Improves staff performance by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
Education and Training
- 5-7 years prior warehouse experience required; 2-5 years management experience required.
- HS degree or GED required
- Forklift experience required (certification/training required)
- Capable of lifting heavy boxes up to 50lbs
- Knowledge of electric hand tools and the electrical industry preferred.
- Knowledge of space utilization and inventory techniques; proper methods of storing equipment, materials and tools.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships is important
- Ability to learn new software
- Basic math skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
