What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floor Position - 2nd Shift position at VAUPELL INDUSTRIAL?
SUMMARY
Verify and track production from job set up through completion.
POSITION DUTIES:
- Transport packaging material from storage or work sites to designated area.
- Verify lot numbers with all work orders, presses, quality assurance paperwork and inventory system.
- Accurately prepare labels for finished goods.
- Count, weigh, and record number of units of packaging materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
- Seal and label boxes as they are filled.
- Scan production into inventory system.
- Ensure packaging meets customer requirements.
- Verifies rework area for any rejects from shift.
- Complete line clearance of all parts and packaging materials upon completion of job run.
- Remove full skids to inventory area as needed.
- Cleans work area, machines, equipment and assists machine operators.
- Cover presses during breaks and/or operate machines as needed.
- Perform job functions of operators.
- Operates industrial truck or handcart to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
- Always follow all safety rules, procedures, and preventative measures.
- Other duties and functions as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
- One to three months of related experience as a machine attendant; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Able to lifts or move objects up to 70 pounds by hand with or without an accommodation.
- Operate mechanic lift equipment with or without an accommodation.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge to navigate through and input data into computer software programs.
- Ability to read, analyze and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Math aptitude to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Ability to understanding and carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions.
- Able to multi-task and prioritize priorities simultaneously.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid certified forklift course certificate or ability to obtain within 30-days.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITION
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
