Job Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Biotechnology Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Vaxxinova US.
In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of efficient manufacturing protocols for our vaccines through fermentation processes.
You will work closely with our scientific and quality assurance teams to ensure the quality and consistency of our products.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist in operating and maintaining fermentation equipment and systems, adhering to safety protocols and regulatory standards.
- Help prepare and sterilize culture media, buffers, and other solutions required for fermentation processes.
- Monitor fermentation processes, including temperature, pH, and nutrient levels, and assist in making adjustments as necessary.
- Collaborate with team members to collect and analyze samples at various stages of fermentation, conducting tests to ensure product quality and consistency.
- Assist in documenting all processes and results accurately in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Support team members in troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during fermentation.
- Work collaboratively with the team to implement process improvements and efficiencies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all safety and health regulations.
Requirements:
- Able to work on equipment while standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting; able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- High school diploma required, two or four-year degree in any technical field preferred.
- One to two years' experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience in fermentation technology, particularly in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries, is a plus.
- Knowledge of animal vaccine development processes is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with laboratory and manufacturing safety protocols.
