As we continue to grow, we are seeking strong leaders to oversee key departments and guide long-term strategy and operations.
As our HR Director, you will lead all human resources functions for VBA, including recruitment, team onboarding, compliance, and internal policies. You’ll help establish and maintain the cultural and operational foundation of our organization during a crucial stage of development.
Please note: This is an interim unpaid leadership position, intended to transition into a paid role as funding becomes available.
- Develop and manage internal HR policies, procedures, and documentation
- Lead recruitment and onboarding for new hires and team members
- Ensure compliance with applicable employment regulations
- Build a structure for training, development, and employee engagement
- Assist with future benefits planning and organizational development
- Support DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) efforts and employee wellness
- Advise senior leadership on HR best practices and risk mitigation
- Professional experience in human resources, people operations, or related roles
- Knowledge of employment law and HR compliance standards
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to design systems and processes from the ground up
- Experience supporting hybrid or remote teams is a plus
- Available to contribute 5–10 hours per week
- Willing to serve in an unpaid capacity until funding allows for compensation
