Our client, a rapidly growing organization based in Houston, is urgently looking for a Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize their SQL Server environments—both on-premise and in the cloud. This is a full-time, permanent position offering the opportunity to have a direct impact on streamlining data management practices and modernizing infrastructure.
About the Role:
In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the administration, performance, and reliability of mission-critical databases. You’ll work to improve and automate processes currently reliant on extensive Excel usage, contribute to data ingestion and integration efforts, and ensure the integrity, availability, and security of all SQL Server databases.

Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain SQL Server databases across on-prem and cloud environments.
- Design, implement, and manage robust backup and recovery strategies.
- Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and execute performance tuning.
- Ingest and manage data from various sources, including Excel and Access.
- Ensure data integrity, availability, and security across all environments.
- Collaborate with internal IT teams and business users to support data-driven initiatives.
- Contribute to process automation and integration projects where applicable.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 1–5 years of professional experience as a Database Administrator (DBA).
- Strong proficiency in SQL Server (on-prem and cloud-based).
- Experience designing and implementing backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain data accuracy and consistency across systems.
- Solid troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Familiarity with PowerShell or other scripting languages for automation.
- Experience with data ingestion from Excel, Access, or similar sources.
- Exposure to data integration tools and collaboration with integration teams.
