Assembly Technician

Summary: This position requires the ability to read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings and be able to assemble machine assemblies and sub-assemblies on packaging machines using common hand tools. Must have basic hand tools and tool box. Other duties will include the assembly of mechanical components and following bill of materials, and other written and verbal specifications.

Temperature controlled facility

Time Utilization: Normal business hours are 7:00am to 3:45pm (45 min lunch break). Overtime may be required as production schedule dictates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

1) Prepares production sheets and other reports, as required

2) Ability to read and understand job aids and work instructions

3) Keeps all work areas clean and orderly

4) Utilizes pneumatic and hand tools to assist with building product

5) Responsible for quality of product produced in his/her work area

6) Reads and interprets engineering drawings to support production

7) Material handling duties, as required kitting product and transporting materials

8) Performs final assembly and testing of product against required specifications

9) Keeps their supervisor apprised of issues related to daily performance

10) Maintains discipline and a safe working environment

11) Must be able to work overtime as required (including occasional Saturdays)

12) Must be willing to be cross-trained in all areas of production

13) Must be punctual, responsible, and reliable

14) Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs. on an occasional basis

15) Must supply your own hand tools and tool box

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. Mechanical skills required. Mechanical and electrical aptitude needed.

1) Must possess the ability to read and understand assembly drawings.

2) Must possess the ability to use hand tools and power tools.

3) Must maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

4) Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others are required.

5) Basic understanding/ability to use computers to access production lists and attendance system is necessary.

Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.

Math Ability:
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and to practical situations.

Computer Skills:
Basic understanding/ability to use computers to access production lists and attendance system is necessary.

Certificates and Licenses:
This job requires no certificates or licenses.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

The associate must regularly lift and /or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the associate is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The associate is frequently required to climb or balance. The associate is occasionally required to sit.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
