VCA SouthPaws Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Center in Fairfax, VA, is seeking an experienced LVT or Veterinary Assistant to join our leadership team as our Lead Technician for our Surgery, Ophthalmology and Neurology departments.

On-site Veterinary Social Worker!
This is a working supervisory position responsible for the leadership and development of the nursing team. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Mentorship & Training
Scheduling staff
Implementing department policies and procedures
Associate performance evaluations and coaching
Conducting team meetings
Handling Client/DVM feedback
Record keeping
Working closely with the departments Administrative Manager on shared duties, i.e. client satisfaction, human resource items and related department support
Qualifications:
Licensed Veterinary Technician in Virginia or license-eligible OR Veterinary Assistant with Surgery specific experience
Dedicated to supporting a healthy work environment where all employees are elevated, empowered and enjoy what they do
Strong leadership and technical skills
Salary is competitive with consideration taken for experience and discussed upon hiring. The ideal schedule consists of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:30am-5:30pm.
