Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to drive growth by managing and expanding relationships with key customers across multiple channels. This role will involve identifying new business opportunities, managing existing accounts, and achieving sales and profitability targets. As the primary point of contact for assigned customer(s), you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that align with VCM's brand goals, managing customer relationships, and ensuring successful outcomes across all touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Profitability Goals: Meet and exceed sales targets and financial KPIs, as set by the VP of Sales.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders within assigned customer accounts, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization.
- Strategic Planning: Develop customer and channel-specific plans that align with VCM’s mission and brand strategies, ensuring goals are met and business growth is achieved.
- Business Development: Identify new business opportunities, including whitespace within existing accounts and potential new customers or channels, to drive growth in all of VCM’s product categories.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with teams such as Customer Service, Marketing, Finance and Operations to ensure customer needs are met, issues are resolved, and objectives are achieved.
- Forecasting & Reporting: Own the customer forecasting process, collaborating with the VP of Sales and Operations team to ensure accurate projections and inventory management.
- Customer Meetings & Presentations: Lead customer reviews, meetings, and events, preparing presentations, collateral, and marketing plans that support business objectives.
- Issue Resolution: Collaborate with Customer Service and Finance to address and resolve customer-specific issues, such as order management delays, deductions, and credit problems.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in consumer product account management, sales, or marketing. Experience in channels such as Hardware (ACE & Do It Best), Farm & AG (Mid States Distribution, Rural King, Blains, etc.), or Wholesale is a plus.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong customer-facing skills, with the ability to interact effectively with company owners, buyers, and support teams.
- Self-starter with a results-oriented mindset and strong interpersonal, leadership, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make strategic recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Creative problem solver with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to travel up to 30-40% within the U.S.

Pay: $68,000.00 - $76,000.00 per year
