Position: Director E-Commerce
Reporting to the COO, the Director E-Commerce will be responsible for driving aggressive growth of the company’s digital/e-Commerce business, ideally doubling the business in the next three years. This person will own the P&L and serve as the general manager for VCNY Home’s E-Commerce business. This individual will develop a strategy to fully capitalize on the revenue opportunities for a fashion-forward home textiles brand in digital channels. He/she will be solely responsible for developing global vision, strategic direction, and execution of VCNY Home E-Commerce efforts, digital strategies and all digital touch points that drive traffic, support the brand, and deliver on aggressive revenue targets. First, this person will drive expansion of current e-Commerce efforts selling via “bricks and clicks” sites (Target.com, Walmart.com, etc.) and “pure play” retailers (Amazon, Wayfair, Zulily, Overstock.com).

Responsibilities
• Oversee all creative and operational aspects of e-Commerce sales including business planning, product assortment, content strategy and development, on-line merchandising, and operations. Develop and oversee effective planning, QA, and execution of content across retailer websites and online marketing campaigns to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of all web content publishing. Drive merchandising strategies, product development and ensure optimal presentation of product as measured by conversion and average order size.
• Generate and implement the latest sales and marketing initiatives to increase e-Commerce sales and profitability. Work collaboratively within the organization to ensure execution of key initiatives that lead to increased market share and profitability across all product lines and consumer segments.
• Build and expand B2B relationships with on-line retail customers. Establish continuing dialogue and build top-level relationships with key e-Commerce retailers (Wayfair, Amazon, Target.com, etc.), proactively advancing the company’s reputation as a go-to source for affordable and fashionable home fashions and finding effective and profitable ways to grow sales.
• Manage all aspects of e-Commerce data and analytics communicating relevant information to team members, executive leadership, and cross-functional partners. Monitor and report on the performance of all VCNY e-Commerce product offerings, along with other relevant market data such as competitor pricing, consumer reviews, and competitor on-line marketing efforts.
• Build and direct a cohesive team of internal and external personnel to effectively develop e-Commerce solutions. Lead and develop a team currently comprised of 10-12 people who are sales managers, assistants, merchandising managers, and copywriters. Build and realign the team to support business growth and greater efficiency.
• Identify new areas of e-Commerce opportunity beyond current organizational thinking. Drive the development and execution of long-term strategies to increase business in digital channels and bring greater efficiency to operations. Initiatives might include VCNYHome.com content updates, creation of an ordering portal for retail customer buyers and planning for an eventual B2C e-Commerce site. Provide expertise in current industry best practices and monitor competitors and developing technology for new opportunities.

Specifically, we are looking for:
• 10 years of relevant experience in e-Commerce ideally in fashion-forward industry such as home decor, fashion, or cosmetics.
• A flair for fashion with an eye for design and a merchant’s sense of what products appeal to consumers along with how to best highlight them online.
• A methodical thinker who can identify opportunities and develop plans to capitalize on them in a timely fashion.
• An open, enthusiastic, and transparent communicator who can connect with and engage with a broad range of people.
• Purposeful leader who uses data and analyses to support decisions. Creates and measures KPIs for every aspect of the online business.
• Brand management and marketing experience with the ability to drive consistently brand standards and guidelines across all digital marketing and social communications.
• An initiative-taker experienced owning and driving a P&L, comfortable managing a budget.
• Outstanding analytical skills, strong experience interpreting data and drawing conclusions. Ability to apply analysis to make data driven decisions to increase performance.
• Ability to work in a demanding environment where every leader moves between tactical and strategic aspects of the role with ease. Strong work ethic and can-do attitude.
• Extensive knowledge of e-Commerce technology and sophisticated analytics.
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• MBA would be an asset
