Roles and Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee skilled hourly employees to provide efficient and timely maintenance services while maintaining safety and quality standards. Responsibilities include managing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical controls for the plant’s processing and packaging equipment, as well as building, utility, and wastewater pretreatment systems.
Hours of Work:
- 1:30 PM - 11:00 PM, Monday - Friday
- Additional pay for on-call, call-backs, and weekend hours when worked.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe work environment, striving for an incident rate at or below the industry average.
- Schedule daily Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Work Order (WO) assignments.
- Work with packaging machines, Thermoformers, rotary machines, Vemag, and clipping equipment for casing material.
- Manage maintenance associates, including scheduling, floor coverage, and performance management.
- Train, coach, and motivate employees to maintain productivity and quality.
- Maintain maintenance inventory accuracy through parts requisition and weekly cycle counts.
- Oversee repair and maintenance expenses for materials and indirect overtime.
- Use CMMS systems to produce and track work orders.
- Handle daily start-up and breakdown of production equipment.
- Track plant production rates to ensure efficiency.
- Monitor equipment uptime and implement improvements as needed.
Qualifications:
- Technical degree, license, or certificates preferred.
- 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance or a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution (480V), low voltage electrical controls, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CMMS software, PLC programming, and troubleshooting.
- Ammonia refrigeration knowledge is a plus (willingness to train required).
- Must be willing to be on-call for maintenance and refrigeration system support.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Experience with boiler systems and ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
Experience Required:
- Manufacturing maintenance: 10 years (preferred).
- Supervisory/management experience: 5 years (preferred).
- Food manufacturing experience: 10 years (preferred).
Workplace Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and move throughout the facility.
- Work in cold environments (35-45°F), damp conditions, and occasional extreme temperatures (-5°F to 100°F).
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and handle tools and equipment.
- Regularly required to bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb to access machinery.
- Ability to identify defects, inspect machinery, and detect ammonia odors.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
