What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant Brook Rd- Pediatric Dentistry position at VCU Dental Care?
Chief Purpose of the Position
As a Dental Assistant at Brook Rd with VCU Dental Care's Pediatric Dentistry Department, you will support dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments and materials to perform procedures in compliance with the dental clinic and/or task delegated by the treated dentist or attending faculty dentist.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
- Familiar with dental treatments done daily: prophy, sealants, fluoride treatment, crowns (stainless steel, nu Smiles and strips) RCT, composite, flowable, fugi, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Working knowledge of dental terminology required
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment is required
- Excellent customer service skills and willingness to assist patients, students, residents, faculty and other staff.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform 4-handed dentistry
- Ability to actively listen and anticipate patient needs
Education level and experience required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR certification, preferred
- X-Ray certification, required
- CDA preferred
- Bilingual, preferred
- Pediatric dental experience preferred
- Two years of previous dental assistant experience required
Hiring Range: Commensurate with experience
