Summary
The chief purpose of this position is to facilitate research and scholarship in the College of Health Professions through provision of administrative support to the PhD Program in Health Related Sciences and the Office of Research: Associate Dean of Research. This position will also facilitate communication of research activities within the College of Health Professions, and to external stakeholders such as prospective students, alumni, and accreditors.

Office of Research
The Program Manager Will Administratively Support The Associate Dean Of Research For Various Research Programs Within The College. This Support Includes But Is Not Limited To The Following
- Assist with scheduling and planning for the annual Research Week that occurs each Spring.
- Administrative support for the Associate Dean of Research.
- Administrative support for the College Research Committee and Meetings.
- Administrative support to facilitate and enhance college research activity.
- Facilitate Student involvement in Research Week and submitting research applications.
- Facilitate Faculty involvement in Research Week and submitting research applications.
The Program Manager Will Support The Program Director Of The PhD In Health Related Sciences Program To Provide Administrative Support To The Program. This Support Includes But Is Not Limited To The Following
- Oversee admissions committee and all admissions procedures.
- Manage logistics of all on-campus sessions including planning lunches and special events.
- Support program monitoring of student GPA, graduation credits, and graduation check out in Banner and Degree Works.
- Coordinate milestone activities such as comprehensive exams, proposal defenses and final defenses.
- Collect and maintain data for the program including alumni engagement, annual outcomes, and program-related statistical reports (e.g., pass rates, retention).
- Create and distribute mid-term and end of semester evaluations, compiling and distributing results to instructors.
- Assist with the recruitment and onboarding of adjunct faculty- help coordinate adjunct travel for on-campus sessions and reimbursement for travel.
- Maintain listservs, Groupme chat, and communicate with students and alumni about all relevant information, manage the program’s social media and communicate with IT for website updates.
- Assist with review and revisions of faculty and student handbooks and program curricula and maintain database of program materials, course scheduling, and forecasting for future needs.
- Review and update submissions of all courses and curriculum - maintain bulletin/catalog content including making all updates to curriculum/courses in CIM.
- Order program supplies and materials and contribute to the development of the annual program budget.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions to problems.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
- History of strong customer service.
- Strong analysis skills to evaluate program performance, summarize findings, communicate results, and form an action plan.
- Independent workability to complete tasks without immediate supervision.
- Confidentiality and professionalism in an office environment.
- Strong proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and experiences or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
- Experience in higher education student administration, Sponsored Projects office, and program planning.
- Proficiency in Banner, Canvas, Slate, and the VCU reporting center.
- Experience leveraging social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook) to build an online presence for stakeholders.
- Strong work experience in academic research administration and graduate-level academic administrative office.
