The Virginia Commonwealth University School of Arts Qatar (VCUarts Qatar) is recruiting for the 2023-2024 academic year within the Interior Design program.
Position Overview:
Teaching expectations include:
- Courses re-assignment from previous faculty - teaching 2 courses per semester.
- Student Support - Office hours & mentorship
- Support new curricular teaching initiatives - Batch Alignments & Core Components.
- Ability to teach diverse classes and literacies and is capable of collaboration and co-teaching with a high level of collegiality.
- Participate in critiques from other courses.
Fulfil departmental service and admin requirements that include:
- Support work needed for CIDA accreditation - archiving, meetings/retreats, documentation, CIDA reports and narratives
- Collaborate with fellow faculty members on departmental projects, exhibitions, and events.
- Curricular development - help develop new credentials within the program and refine the existing curriculum
- Support for department study trips - local and international
- Recruitment support - engage in outreach activities to promote the department.
- Community engagement - Contribute to the broader community through outreach programs, public exhibitions, and community events. Foster positive relationships with local practices and organizations.
Research & Professional Development:
- Carry out research related to their speciality and area of focus
- Stay updated with current trends and developments in Interior Design & Architecture.
- Attend workshops, conferences, and exhibitions to expand their knowledge and network
- Contribute to the research landscape in the community
