The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-quality, precision parts according to design specifications. This role involves interpreting blueprints, programming and adjusting machine settings, and ensuring quality control throughout the fabrication process. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, technical expertise, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC machines to fabricate components according to project specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files.
Load raw materials, adjust machine settings, and monitor production for accuracy.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment.
Conduct quality checks using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
Collaborate with the design and production teams to ensure seamless workflow.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in CNC machining preferred.
Experience:
3–5 years of experience in CNC operation and programming.
Familiarity with Vectorworks and/or VCarve.
Experience with woodworking, metalworking, or acrylic fabrication is a plus.
Skills:
Strong understanding of CNC machine operations, tooling, and maintenance.
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lift and move materials as needed (physical capability required).
Flexibility to work occasional nights or weekends as production demands.
