Vecta Environmental Services, a leader in industrial services, is seeking a Fleet Operations Coordinator to join our team. This role reports to Vecta’s Corporate Fleet Manager and is critical for managing rental equipment, optimizing equipment utilization, maintaining inventory of tools and parts, and ensuring compliance with fleet-related regulations over time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rental Equipment Management:
- Coordinate with vendors and internal operations teams to ensure all rental equipment is tracked, utilized effectively, and returned on time and in good condition.
- Monitor rental return timelines and condition upon return, as well as review final invoices to avoid unnecessary costs.
- Equipment Utilization Oversight:
- Track and analyze the utilization of in-house and rental equipment to ensure maximum operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to redeploy underutilized assets or schedule maintenance downtime.
- Inventory Management:
- Conduct regular inventory counts of tools, parts, and specialty equipment, ensuring all items are available and accurately recorded.
- Implement and maintain organizational systems for inventory tracking.
- Systems and Reporting:
- Utilize a mix of operating system reporting and Excel-based tools to track equipment, inventory, and utilization data.
- Analyze data to identify trends and provide actionable insights to management.
- Regulatory Compliance Development:
- Gain exposure to DOT and other regulatory requirements related to fleet management.
- Over time, take on a greater role in ensuring the fleet remains compliant with safety, maintenance, and operational regulations.
- Collaboration:
- Partner with operations, maintenance, and procurement teams to anticipate and address fleet and tooling needs effectively.
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel to company sites, vendor locations, or job sites will be required to coordinate equipment logistics, conduct inventory counts, or oversee equipment relocations.
- Travel may involve overnight stays based on project needs.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- College degree preferred, but high school diploma or equivalent with additional technical or analytical education is acceptable.
- Prior experience in fleet management, equipment coordination, or inventory control is preferred.
- Licensing:
- CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred or willingness to obtain.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable using/learning fleet management systems.
- Ability to manage and create spreadsheets in Excel.
Regulatory Knowledge:
- Exposure to DOT or other regulatory requirements is a plus but not required; the role offers opportunities for long-term development in this area.
