Safety Specialist

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:

·        Maintain Incident Reports, Medical Records and other safety documents.

·        Coordinate Worker’s Compensation cases.

·        Coordinate Safety Training Classes and meetings.

·        Ordering safety equipment and supplies.

·        Coordinating drug testing and background checks for specific jobs.

·        Conduct job site safety inspections and meetings.

·        Maintain DOT requirements.

·        Update and distribute safety policies and procedures as needed.

·        Support the Safety Director with safety concerns and inquiries from employees, subcontractors, and Project Managers.

·        Prepare annual reports for management review.

·        Work with HR department to maintain the Tyfoom safety App for employees.

Minimum Qualifications:

·        Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·        Strong organizational and time management skills.

·        Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

·        Detail-orientated with a focus on accuracy.

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

·        Basic understanding of construction safety regulations and best practices.

·        Ability to walk on uneven surfaces may be required.

·        Some overtime or irregular hours might be necessary to respond to incidents.

·        Coordinating drug testing and background checks for specific jobs.

Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a construction or safety-related field.

Familiarity with construction site safety procedures. OSHA training is preferred but not required.
