The Director of Finance for the Madison location serves as a trusted, strategic business partner who adds value by providing accurate, timely, and pertinent accounting & financial information and guidance. This position reports to the VSG CFO with dotted line reporting to the General Manager of VSG Americas. Individual is responsible for partnering with the leadership team in Madison to drive strategic and business initiatives, provide financial control leadership, and support reporting requirements of Dover. This is a hands-on role managing the financial accounting and reporting systems, implementing robust procedures that create accurate, timely, and relevant financial statements, measurements, forecasts, and business analysis, includes direct supervision and development of all finance (accounting and FP&A) team members in coordination with the strategic direction of the region.
The ideal candidate will possess: (1) financial functional leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (2) expertise in site-level accounting & processes, cost accounting, forecasting and budgeting (3) a track record of supporting financial results through business partnering with commercial & operations teams (4) the leadership and change management skills necessary to lead a high performing accounting & finance team for current and future growth (5) entrepreneurial in nature; helping make decisions with imperfect information and, (6) displays a high level of initiative; invites, challenges, naturally inclusive and collaborative and explores new ideas while understanding and communicating risks, (7) prior experience working for a public US-based multinational corporation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the fiscal closing process including closing journal entries and sub ledgers timely and accurately and in accordance to US GAAP. This includes analysis, interpretation and reporting of budget and actual variance and financial results.
- Financial leadership supporting regional strategic initiatives and investments.
- Coordination and communication of financial results with all stakeholders, including VSG Leadership, Dover, and Auditors.
- Special focus on operational finance, cost accounting, inventory and standard costing of products
- Continuous evaluation of system flows, emphasizing continuous improvement in business processes.
- Lead monthly and quarterly forecast process, 3-year Strategic Plan, and Annual Operating Plan providing updates to the Madison and VSG Global Management teams.
- Supervise and direct accounting & finance staff including but not limited to performance review and evaluations, mentoring and development.
- Manage and/or assist with special projects on group wide initiatives, process simplification and site-specific projects.
- Partner with functional managers, business partners and leaders to establish short- and long-term goals and objectives, including the ability to build tools and mechanisms to assist in business management.

Education/Aptitude:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting
- Advanced Accounting degree, business degree or CPA preferred
- Requires 10 years of experience, preferably within manufacturing & industrial products industry
- Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of Access, PowerPoint, Word and ERP systems
