Work Schedule:
· 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM.
· Work Location: In-office.
Position Summary:
The Accountant will play a key role in managing and overseeing the financial operations of Vehicles For Change. This role ensures the organization maintains a high standard of financial accuracy, compliance, and transparency. The Accountant will handle core accounting functions, support grant reporting, and contribute to strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to advancing the organization’s mission.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
· Manage and process all Accounts Payable invoices and checks.
· Prepare and maintain the Weekly Accounts Payable Aging Report.
· Enter and process stipend checks in compliance with organizational policies.
· Record and reconcile credit card charges and statements.
· Reconcile customer and vendor statements to ensure financial accuracy.
· Support monthly and quarterly grant reporting, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
· Assist in audit preparations, including documentation and report generation.
· Prepare additional departmental reports as required by leadership.
· Maintain organized filing systems for financial records.
· Serve as a backup within the finance department as needed, providing support across various accounting functions.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
· Associate’s Degree in Accounting (required).
· 3–4 years of professional accounting experience (required).
Preferred Skills and Experience:
· Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop for financial management.
· Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
· Grant reporting experience is a strong advantage.
