What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Representative & Medical Assistant position at Vein Guys?
Responsibilities:
- Keep front desk tidy and presentable with all necessary material (pens, forms, paper etc.)
- Check in/out patients.
- Answer questions and address complaints
- Answer all incoming calls and redirect them or keep messages
- Receive letters, packages etc. and distribute them
- Prepare outgoing mail by drafting correspondence, securing parcels etc.
- Check, sort and forward emails
- Monitor office supplies and place orders when necessary
- Keep updated records and files
- Monitor office expenses and costs
- Take up other duties as assigned (travel arrangements, schedules etc.)
- Assist physicians in providing quality care to patients.
- Completes all documentation for observation, planning, and evaluation of care provided to patients, including orders by physicians. Performs other position related duties as assigned.
- Maintains open lines of communication between staff, as well as management, physicians, and patients.
- Acts on patient’s behalf to assure patient rights.
- Acts on First Aid knowledge in emergencies.
- Reports immediately to designated OSHA Safety Officer any exposure or incident reports.
- Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment, following Blood Borne Pathogens, and Universal Precautions. Is aware of safety issues, accomplishing responsibilities in a safe manner, reinforces good safety practices displayed by other staff members. Maintains comfortable, orderly, safe and clean environment for patients.
- Upholds HIPPA regulations. Is able to maintain confidentiality of information. Reports any HIPPA noncompliance issues to the appropriate person.
- Performs Preoperative appointments when physician is in the office. Assists in relevant teaching for patient and family. Answers any questions to ensure they understand all instructions.
- Performs clinical care as needed, which can include dressing wounds, and performing routine laboratory tests as needed. (i.e., urine pregnancy testing, fasting blood glucose tests)
- 1 year experience in a physician's office
- 1 year experience taking Vital Signs, (Preferred)
- Work 2 days in Nashville and 2 days in Clarksville
- Certified Medical Assistant Certification, (Preferred)
- EMR system experience, (Preferred)
- Experience with Azalea is a plus
