Job Overview:
Join our team at the Vein Institute with offices in Hattiesburg, Diberville, and Meridian as an Insurance Coordinator Director where you will play a vital role in managing patient accounts and insurance-related tasks within our medical vein practice specialty office. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with expertise in insurance verification, medical coding specific to procedure-based medical specialties, and management of patient receivables to ensure seamless billing and collection processes. This is a full-time office position; you have the ability to choose which office of the three you work from.
Salary:
$50,000/yearly; production bonus incentives
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the accurate and timely submission of claims.
- Consistent follow-up on outstanding receivables to obtain timely payment
- Timely insurance authorization requests
- Ensure medical documentation is obtained accurately for submission to insurance
- Provide professional patient service
- Answer provider, insurance company representative and patient questions including but not limited to claims payment, status and coverage information
- Interpret patient health plans
- Investigate returned mail
- Oversee patient insurance eligibility and benefit determinations
- Oversee/Receive patient pre-certification, pre-authorizations, and pre-determinations for procedures diagnosed
- Ensure all necessary payment due is collected at the time of service or coordinate payment arrangements
- Review billing charges, payment amounts and insurance claims for accuracy
- Handle all collection procedures for any and all unpaid balances, statements, collection calls and or collection agency
- Manage provider insurance contracts to ensure participation is active and fees are collected based on contracted fee schedules
- Ensure patients insurance information is up to date in software system
- Post collected payments for all accounts and ensure that collections are accurate based on treatment plans and insurance benefits
- Present treatment plans to patients for services needed explaining insurance benefits or self pay cost and options for treatment.
- Schedule treatment once accepted by patient
- Provide daily/weekly/monthly reports to management
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in insurance verification and billing in a procedure-based medical practice is REQUIRED
- Proficiency in medical terminology and coding practices
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance standards
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and insurance companies
- Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced medical office setting
