What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Cook position at Vela Bar Cocina?
The Line Cook will possess exemplary cooking skills and maintain a well-organized station. Preparation and execution of dishes and recipes to a high standard is required in conjunction with maintaining cleanliness and following safety protocols.
The Line Cook is required to set up, maintain, and execute menu items as directed by the culinary leadership team.
Required Skills/Qualifications

Previous experience working as a line cook or similar role in a restaurant setting, preferably in a high-volume or upscale establishment.

Knowledge of grilling techniques and experience with various types of grills (e.g., gas, charcoal).

Familiarity with Mexican cuisine and ingredients is preferred but not required; willingness to learn and adapt to our restaurant's menu offerings.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality

Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team members.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Food handler's certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.

Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).

Positive attitude, passion for cooking, and a commitment to providing exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

Fluent in English and Spanish preferred but not required.
