Job Summary:
The Clinical Research Dietitian will provide nutritional expertise and support for clinical trials focused on obesity, metabolic health, and related interventions. This role involves developing and implementing dietary protocols, counseling study participants, monitoring compliance, and collaborating with interdisciplinary research teams to ensure high-quality data collection and participant support.
Responsibilities
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and monitor dietary plans aligned with clinical trial protocols and study objectives
- Provide one-on-one and group nutrition counseling to study participants, focusing on weight management, behavioral change, and lifestyle modification
- Support participant recruitment and screening with emphasis on nutritional eligibility criteria
- Monitor dietary adherence, maintain accurate records, and support data collection for nutritional outcomes
- Collaborate with investigators, coordinators, and other clinical operations staff to optimize study design and participant experience
- Ensure all documentation complies with regulatory standards, including IRB-approved protocols and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
- Contribute to the preparation of study reports, publications, and presentations related to nutritional findings
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong understanding of clinical trial data collection, GCP guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical research setting.
- Primarily overnight shifts; occasional daytime studies or meetings
- Clinical research setting; some participant-facing responsibilities may require early morning or evening availability
- Hybrid work environment may be available depending on study design and site policies
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical nutrition; prior experience in clinical research or obesity-focused interventions strongly preferred
- Familiarity with GCP, IRB processes, and regulatory documentation
- Excellent communication, counseling, and documentation skills
- Experience with dietary software, data entry, and Microsoft Office Suite
