Our Client a Major Entertainment/Media firm located in Midtown Manhattan is seeking a IT Operations Engineering Manager. This is a hybrid role 3/4 days onsite. This is an ongoing contract with no end date and could potentially lead to full time. The IT Operations Engineering Manager role is a key leadership position within the organization. The primary responsibilities of the IT Operations Manager are to oversee the maintenance and optimization of servers, LOB applications, software, and cloud systems. The IT Operations Manager is expected to lead a team of engineers, ensuring the secure and reliable operation of mission-critical systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage a team of IT Operations Engineers, ensuring optimal system performance through continuous monitoring, issue resolution, and scheduled upgrades.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members.
- Ensure effective management and support of all major technologies and tools utilized by the organization.
- Oversee the implementation and deployment of changes across production, development, staging, and test environments.
- Ensure configuration and change management processes are accurately documented and consistently followed.
- Document detailed procedures and instructions, ensuring adherence by the team.
- Ensure the completion of regular SOX User Access Reviews (UAR) for Line of Business (LOB) applications to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate and provide continuous feedback to improve policies aimed at securing and optimizing mission-critical systems.
- Identify opportunities to automate processes, reducing manual labor and human effort.
- Implement automation solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Continuously evaluate and refine processes to optimize resource utilization and operational effectiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS
- System administration with Windows operating systems.
- System administration with Microsoft 365 technologies.
- Experience in database administration with Microsoft SQL.
- Proven experience in managing and leading a team in an enterprise-level environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, DFS, DNS, IIS.
- Experience with Microsoft High-Availability & Failover Clustering.
- Knowledge and understanding of Cloud Computing (Azure and AWS) and SaaS applications.
- Experience with VMware vSphere.
- Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops.
- Highly proficient with PowerShell scripting.
- Experience working with enterprise monitoring, automation, and orchestration systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills with a good sense of prioritizing workload.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts.
- Experience with ITIL frameworks
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Highly organized, motivated, dedicated, and a team player.
- Availability to work during emergencies, and scheduled afterhours and weekends.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related equivalent education required.
- Certifications from Microsoft, VMware, or related technology areas are preferred.
