Essential Functions and Purpose:
The Business Development Director should demonstrate high levels of energy and drive in planning and executing go-to-market strategies, generating revenue, and actively seeking new opportunities. This role involves engaging potential customers and partners and successfully closing deals to grow the business. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing strategic business development plans that align with the specific goals of offices, regions, industry verticals, and the overall company objectives. These strategies will include conducting market research, prospecting, and developing relationships with new and existing clients, suppliers, and trade partners, while effectively communicating VTRL's value proposition to secure new business.
Additionally, this position may require coordination with the account management team to achieve corporate or regional targets. The Business Development Director will also help lead and engage seller[1]doers to strengthen client relationships. Collaboration with the marketing and communications teams will be essential for planning and coordinating conferences and events

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a business development role
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including great listening skills
- Executive level presence with an ability to interact and present effective written and verbal communications
- Sales or business management experience
- Strong leadership/coordination ability in a matrixed environment
- Experienced in driving customer allegiance and growing existing customer base
- Proven track record in managing/understanding a service or services related business
- Highly motivated self-starter
- Excellent skills in the areas of time management and organization
- Develop long term client relationships that lead to new business opportunities
- Meet and exceed retention targets and sales quotas for new clients
- Owns the account management and territory plans and works closely with the VP of Lease to implement strategic sales plans
- Develop and execute annual business development plans that align with the office, region, and company growth goals
- Lead and coordinate the efforts of the seller-doer program
- Qualify opportunities and inform others during go/no-go meetings to increase the win ratio on project pursuits
- Build the VTRL brand via coordination with business development coordinators and marketing staff to organize and attend tradeshows, networking events, client entertainment and participate in social media strategies
- Join, participate, and attend industry associations, boards and/or committees that will further enhance your network and further build the industry brand for VTRL
- Collaborate with strategic marketing and the sales and services teams
- Evaluate local, regional, and national competition and identify their strengths and weaknesses.
- Develop and produce monthly activity reports
- Maintain and update CRM to track client activity, leads, and opportunities
- Coordinate and collaborate with other Business Development staff
- Coordinate and participate with in-house recruiting staff to recruit new talent for the Company
- $125,000-$150,000/year depending on experience
